The HSC Masterclasses provide an opportunity for skill-building for students and professional learning for teachers.
Workshops are delivered by Artists-in-Residence, HSC Markers and members of the SCS Arts Team.
Content covers skills and techniques essential to core and elective components of the HSC syllabus.

DRAMA | HSC Individual Project Monologue | Week 4 Tuesday 25 February | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood

Teachers and students will explore the directorial vision and its role in the Individual Project Performance and how to make the connections within the scope of this project. Participants will analyse the HSC marking criteria evaluating ways to apply and improve their performance.

VISUAL ARTS | HSC Written Exam – Section I | Week 5 Wednesday 5 March | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Zoom

“Dealing with the Anxiety of Section 1”

This HSC Masterclass equips students with strategies to approach the Visual Arts exam confidently and effectively. Through guided practice and critical thinking exercises, students will learn techniques to manage stress and develop clear, sophisticated responses to unseen questions.

MUSIC 1 and MUSIC 2 | HSC Music Composition Part I | Week 6 Tuesday 11 March | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood

Examine successful strategies for HSC Music compositions including how to develop a theme or motif, create variety and contrast and unique harmonious language, and use scoring techniques for your specific instrument or ensemble.

There is no cost for Sydney Catholic Schools’ and other Catholic Diocese teachers and students to participate in these programs.

All session tickets are $20 for DOE and Independent teachers and students.
