DRAMA | HSC Group Performance | Week 4 Tuesday 20 May | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood
Teachers and students will engage with strategies to move GP performances forward, integrating further playbuilding techniques to refine and enhance pieces and meet the HSC Criteria. Participants will analyse the HSC marking criteria and assess other groups. Students will be challenged to apply feedback and evaluate ways to improve their group work.
MUSIC | HSC Performance (Voice, Piano, Guitar, Drums, Woodwinds & Strings) | Week 5 Tuesday 27 May | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood
Students will perform and receive feedback from a panel of experienced HSC markers. Students will be encouraged to evaluate their peers and apply observations to their own performance.
MUSIC | HSC Music Composition Part 2 | Week 6 Tuesday 3 June | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood
This practical workshop will explore a checklist of compositional processes used to develop material and bring a work to its completion. Students will also develop skills around digital scoring conventions and their understanding of HSC composition submission guidelines.
MUSIC | The Viva Voce | Week 7 Tuesday 10 June | 4:30pm – 6:30pm | Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood
This workshop will provide students and teachers with various strategies for developing a successful viva voce presentation. Discussion will guide students towards best preparation practices and examination techniques, ensuring their viva voce is a demonstration of robust musical analysis.
VISUAL ARTS | HSC Written Exam – Section 1 |April School Holidays Monday 14 April | 9.30am – 11am | Zoom
“Dealing with the Anxiety of Section 1”
This HSC Masterclass equips students with strategies to approach the Visual Arts exam confidently and effectively. Through guided practice and critical thinking exercises, students will learn techniques to manage stress and develop clear, sophisticated responses to unseen questions.

“Nailing the Essay”
This workshop will focus on structuring essays in a logical way to represent a body of knowledge obtained from students’ selected Case Studies in preparation for writing an extended response in the HSC Section II Examination. Areas of learning include artistic analysis/essay writing and artistic vocabulary for use in exams and assessments.
There is no cost for Sydney Catholic Schools’ and other Catholic Diocese teachers and students to participate in these programs.
All session tickets are $20 for DOE and Independent teachers and students.
