The HSC Masterclasses provide an opportunity for skill-building for students and professional learning for teachers.
Workshops are delivered by Artists-in-Residence, HSC Markers and members of the SCS Arts Team.
Content covers skills and techniques essential to core and elective components of the HSC syllabus.

2026 HSC Masterclass Schedule

VISUAL ARTS – The HSC Examination Section One I Term 1 Week 8 | Tuesday 17 March | 4pm – 5.30pm | ONLINE

This HSC Masterclass equips students with strategies to approach the Visual Arts exam confidently and effectively. Through guided practice and critical thinking exercises, students will learn techniques to manage stress and develop clear, sophisticated responses to unseen questions

DRAMA – The Group Performance I Term 2 Week 4 | Thursday 14 May | 4pm – 6pm | Southern Cross Catholic College, Neich Pde Burwood

This workshop provides an opportunity for students to refine Group Performance skills and their HSC piece. Participants will perform, observe and learn from experienced subject experts, looking closely at the HSC marking criteria.

MUSIC – Performance Skills I Term 2 Week 5 | Tuesday 19 May | 4.30pm – 6.30pm | Southern Cross Catholic College, Neich Pde Burwood

This workshop provides students with the opportunity to present their prepared works in a supportive, exam-focused environment. Participants will receive constructive, criteria-based feedback from a panel of experienced HSC markers, offering practical insights to refine performance quality and exam readiness.

DANCE – Core Appreciation “Yuldea” – Bangarra Dance Theatre I Term 3 School Holidays | Wednesday 30 September | 10am – 12pm | ONLINE

Students will deep dive into “Yuldea” and look at how to develop a plan to assist with structuring information which is succinct, logical, easily read and understood using relevant , significant and detailed movement examples to support ideas.

There is no cost for Sydney Catholic Schools’ and other Catholic Diocese teachers and students to participate in these programs.

All session tickets are $20 for DOE and Independent teachers and students.
